One Minute with God

What if God put you
where you are right now
to save one person?
In the end, you would say,
“It was worth it all!”

“And who knows whether you have not come
to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

How good it is to remind ourselves
that even the things man intends for evil,
You mean for our good.
You are sovereign, Lord God.
We praise Your holy name.
Help us to see You more clearly,
to trust You more completely,
to know You more intimately, and
to depend on You for all things. For
Your name’s sake and glory, and our joy.

Our soul waits for the Lord;
he is our help and our shield.
For our heart is glad in him,
because we trust in his holy name.
Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in you.
Psalm 33:20-22 ESV

Thank You, Lord,
for this time of isolation,
and for teaching me
about soul peace
and eternal joys.
Thank You for opportunities
to speak of You.
Please give me more boldness
and clarity.
May my joy in You
grow ever deeper.
Help me, even now,
to trust You fully
and desire You only.
Continue Your good work in me.
Please bring us out of this time
more faithful,
more passionate,
more loving
than we were
when we entered it.

The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
The counsel of the Lord stands forever,

Psalm 33:10-12 ESV

1. I will not be alone: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

2. It will not take my life: I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life (1 John 5:13).

3. It will not shorten my life: In your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them (Psalm 139:16).

4. It will not surprise God: Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it (Lamentations 3:37)?

5. It will not alter God’s plan for me: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

6. It will not keep me from praising God: Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God (Psalm 42:11).

Your sovereignty, LORD God, is our delight,
our hope, our refuge. Knowing that You
ordain all things allows us to look beyond
all things to You–the God who loves us
and hears our prayers.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty
hand of God so that at the proper time
he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him,
because he cares for you. 
1 Peter 5:6-7 ESV

To You, LORD God,
in whose word I trust, I will run.
I am for peace, but You are for purity.
I want happiness, but You want holiness.
I long for temporary pleasures;
You plan for my eternal bliss.

In my distress I called to the LORD, 
and he answered me. 
Psalm 120:1 ESV

1. Our God: “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).

2. Our access to God: Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you (James 4:8).

3. Our salvation: Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them (Hebrews 7:25).

4. Our lives: “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day” (John 6:40).

5. Our home in heaven: “In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also” (John 14:2-3).

6. Our joy: “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:11).

7. Our hope: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3).

8. Our peace: You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you (Isaiah 26:3).

9. Our protection: “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name” (Psalm 91:14).

10. Our purpose:  So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31). 

11. Our confidence: Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling (Psalm 46:2-3).

Lord, You alone are God–awesome in might!
We trust in Your saving power.
We believe in You
and delight in all of Your promises.
O Lord, give us steadfast hearts.
Display Your kind compassion–
comfort, forgive, and restore Your people.

Their heart was not steadfast toward him; 
they were not faithful to his covenant. 
Yet he, being compassionate, atoned for their iniquity 
and did not destroy them; he restrained his anger often
and did not stir up all his wrath. He remembered that they 
were but flesh, a wind that passes and comes not again. 
Psalm 78:37-39 ESV

LORD God, You know all things,
and You are sovereign over all.
You let viruses spread,
and You stop them.
You bring down, and You lift up.
Your children have nothing to fear.
Your will for them is always good.
You delight in their well-being.
You bless them with Your peace.

Let those who delight in my righteousness 
shout for joy and be glad and say evermore, 
“Great is the LORD, who delights in the 
welfare of his servant!”
Psalm 35:27 ESV

May Your favor, Lord God, rest upon us,
for we have put our trust in You.
We depend on Your grace;
we are desperate for Your mercy;
we delight in Your steadfast love;
we walk in the light of Your truth.
May Your favor, O Lord, rest upon us!

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, 
and establish the work of our hands upon us;

May Your joy be our strength today.
May the victories You have won be our confidence.
May Your Word be the rock on which we stand.

You are the Father of the fatherless,
the protector of widows, Holy God.
You settle Your people in homes;
You care for all their needs.
We call on You because You care for us;
we love You because You loved us first.

Sing to God, sing praises to his name;
lift up a song to him who rides through the deserts;
his name is the LORD; exult before him!
Psalm 68:4 ESV

You are the God who heals, fixes, mends and helps.
How desperately we need You. Please,
work in our hearts for our good and Your glory.
Repair what we have broken. Forgive our sin,
and restore our joy in You and each other.

Call upon me in the day of trouble; 
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.

Let the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord.
You are my Rock and my Redeemer.
Work in me that which is pleasing in your sight.
Equip me with everything good
that I may do Your will.

Now may the God of peace who
brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus,
the great shepherd of the sheep,
by the blood of the eternal covenant,

I depend on You, Lord God, for all things.
I am weak in every way.
May Your living Word by my hope and guide.

Thank You, Lord, again, for Your new mercies.
How I need them every morning. Your grace
is my hope, Your forgiveness my salvation;
Your love is the anchor that holds me fast.

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV

Lord, help me to be better at submitting to my husband,
and trusting You for all things and in all circumstances.
Show me how to submit in everything, as Your Word commands,
so that You may have Your way unobstructed by me.

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ
is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its
Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also
wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

The heavens declare Your glory.

The LORD is good to all, and his mercy

Lord God, please put in my heart Your desires,
so that I want to do what I ought to do, so that
my service won’t be a duty, but my delight.
Open my eyes to eternal realities, while I
walk in this temporary world. So be it.

Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will 
give you the desires of your heart. 
Psalm 37:4 ESV

Thank You, Lord, for allowing me to come to You
even when I have no spiritual fervor or longings.
You draw me. You satisfy me. You remind me
that You are God, my good Shepherd who is faithful
to restore my wayward soul.

He restores my soul. He leads me on paths
of righteousness for his name’s sake.
