joy and gladness

Jesus’ forgiveness has the power
to turn earth’s torment into heaven’s joy,
and our eternal gladness in God.
Oh, praise Him!

Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven
over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine
righteous persons who need no repentance.
Luke 15:7 ESV

faith and triumph

Take courage in this: If our faith is not tried,
it will never have the opportunity to triumph.
And with Jesus we always triumph.

But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us
in triumphal procession, and through us spreads
the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere.
2 Corinthians 2:14 ESV

answers

When we don’t know the answer,
we should not feel obliged to give one.

by words without knowledge?”

understand or not

Sometimes, ours is not to understand,
but simply to trust that God is good.

But the thunder of His power who can understand?

worship happy

People happy with God happily worship Him–
they just can’t help it!

And they offered great sacrifices that day and rejoiced,
for God had made them rejoice with great joy;
the women and children also rejoiced.
And the joy of Jerusalem was heard far away.
Nehemiah 12:43 ESV

our weakness, His strength

It’s important to know our weaknesses,
and Who can overcome them.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever
abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears
much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

find and seek

Search for Jesus; find your joy.

These things I have spoken to you, that My joy
may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
…for whoever would draw near to God must believe
that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.
If you seek Him, He will be found by you.
John 15:11, Hebrews 11:6, 1 Chronicles 28:9 ESV

freedom to worship together

Every Sunday morning, we have an opportunity
to separate ourselves from the world, and worship
our God together. Let’s not take that for granted.

…and also everyone who had joined them
and separated himself from the uncleanness
of the peoples of the land to worship the Lord,
the God of Israel.
Ezra 6:21 ESV

our triumphant God

God always triumphs!–in the world,
in our lives, and in the hearts of His people.

And Miriam sang to them:
“Sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously;
the horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea.”
Exodus 15:21 ESV

peace and knowing God

There is a peace that becomes ours only by knowing God.
And the more we know God, the greater that peace.

Grace and peace be yours in abundance through
the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

the Bible and you

We can read the Bible every day and say,
“Oh, that was written just for me! It’s exactly what I needed.”

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

death and the rapture

There is a real possibility that we will not die.

Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep,
but we shall all be changed. For the Lord himself
will descend from heaven with a cry of command,
with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound
of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will
rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will
be caught up together with them in the clouds to
meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always
be with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:51, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 ESV

today and wastefulness

We have today. Let’s not waste it.

And let us not grow weary of doing good,
for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good
to everyone, and especially to those who are of
the household of faith.
Galatians 6:9-10 ESV

God is good

If God didn’t protect us,
He would not be a very good God.
Our God is very good!

Let all who take refuge in You be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread Your protection over them,
that those who love Your name may rejoice in You.
Psalm 5:11 NIV

God at work

God does His most amazing work right inside of us!

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly
than all that we ask or think, according to the power
at work within us, to him be glory in
the church
and in Christ Jesus throughout all
 generations,
forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21 ESV

he who keeps you will not slumber.

fruit bearing

The Holy Spirit produces the fruit;
we grin–and bear it.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control;
against such things there is no law.
