saved and protected

Our Bodyguard already died to rescue us.
And now He lives to keep us safe.

“I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
Psalm 91:14-15 NIV

Jesus and me

Jesus wasn’t kind and caring to some people,
and then rude and indifferent to others.
Jesus was Jesus to everyone He came in contact with;
and we represent Him to everyone we come in contact with.
We can not turn our Christlikeness off and on
as the people groups around us change.

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ,
as though God were pleading through us:
we implore you on Christ’s behalf,
be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:20 NKJV

a good read

The best stories begin and end with God.

In the beginning God ….
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Bible truths

The more we read the Bible,
the more quickly we move
from knowing it’s true,
to loving its truths.

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on His law he meditates day and night.
Psalm 1:1-2 ESV

work and discouragement

We need not be discouraged,
when our coworker is the Lord!

‘Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says the LORD;
‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest;
and be strong, all you people of the land,’ says the LORD,
‘and work; for I am with you,’ says the LORD of hosts.
Haggai 2:4 NKJV

sin and grace

In the light of God’s grace,
our sins fade away.

I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud
and your sins like a mist; return to me,
for I have redeemed you.

prayer and peace

A quiet confidence characterizes
the person who knows
God answers prayer.

Therefore I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
My God will hear me.

liar liar

One day Satan will be exposed
for the liar he is–
and we will wonder
how we ever believed him.

Jesus said, “He [the devil] was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
John 8:44 ESV

Pride is a lie we tell to ourselves.

The pride of your heart has deceived you.

true love

No matter how much we love them,
our possessions will never love us back.

Those who pay regard to vain idols
forsake their hope of steadfast love.

know God

Getting to know God
is our most worthy endeavor.

“Let us know; let us press on
to know the LORD;
his going out is sure as the dawn;
he will come to us as the showers,
as the spring rains that water the earth.”

Hosea 6:3 ESV

our efforts, God’s glory

Everything we do for God
is empowered by God
for the glory of God. Amen!

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.”

God’s servicemen

We can march with confidence
because God empowers
our obedience to His Word.

The LORD utters his voice before his army,
for his camp is exceedingly great;
he who executes his word is powerful.

honor

Love one another with brotherly affection.
Outdo one another in showing honor.
Romans 12:10 ESV

I love the idea
of always treating people
with more honor
than they show us.

angels

Sometimes God sends angels
to finish the work our prayers began.
So, let’s keep on praying!

Are they not all ministering spirits
sent out to serve for the sake of those
who are to inherit salvation?

Sometimes it’s the little things we do
that make the biggest difference.

Therefore encourage one another
and build each other up,
just as in fact you are doing.

peerless

peer: one that is of equal standing with another

God has no peers.
He will never be evaluated by a peer review,
or judged by a jury of His peers.
He’ll never sit through a peer interview,
or experience peer pressure.
He is God, and there in no one of equal standing.

Who is a God like you?
