I never wanted to be a writer. But one morning, during my quiet time with the Lord, I decided to write down my thoughts about my great God. I arranged the words into a poem. After encouragement from friends, I submitted it to Warner Press. They purchased first rights and put it on the back of a bulletin. So I sent off a few more manuscripts. Some of them were published, some were not.
Several years later, after my husband and I became empty-nesters, I had more time (and a quiet house) to concentrate on writing. God quickly blessed my desire to share with others what I thought about Him. I received writing assignments and had several manuscripts published. David C. Cook, Zondervan, Standard, Thomas Nelson, Lillenas, Revell, Judson Press and Warner Press published my devotions, articles, greeting cards, poems, and even a Christmas program.
I began writing One Minute With God in December 2009. To my happy surprise, DaySpring agreed to publish it as a DayBrightener, which was released in February 2012. Many of those first blog posts are in the perpetual calendar, and also many new entries.
It is my hope that One Minute With God will demonstrate the relevancy of God’s Word for this and every day. My prayer is that God would use His words, and mine, to glorify His great Name, and bless His people.
Your sister in Christ,
Kathy Hardee
